The work needs to be begun almost immediately, and examples of segments available to view as it is created.
Preferable made in a project I can open on my PC as well, such as in Sony Vegas or After Effects.
(Usually we do the initial montage in Vegas with the Ultimate plugin to get an instant montage, and then we adjust movement and length for each photo to the music - you may have a better way).
